How Gedaliah son of Pashhur Bulla was found
Found in July 2008 (announced 1 August 2008) in the Iron Age layer outside the wall at the foot of the Large Stone Structure, a few metres from where the Jehucal bulla had been found in 2005.

A clay bulla with two lines of paleo-Hebrew reading 'l-Gedalyahu ben Pashchur' — belonging to Gedaliah son of Pashhur.
Why it matters for the Bible
Jeremiah 38:1 lists four officials who heard Jeremiah urging surrender and demanded his death: Shephatiah, Gedaliah son of Pashhur, Jucal son of Shelemiah and Pashhur son of Malchiah. Two of the four are now attested by seals found within metres of each other in the royal quarter. Together they anchor Jeremiah 38 in a real government office in the years before 586.
