El Elyon — God Most High
אֵל עֶלְיוֹן
God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth — first spoken by Melchizedek, king-priest of Salem.
The name that towers over every earthly power — spoken by a Gentile priest to the father of Israel, and later by a humbled Babylonian emperor. Christian thought hears it again at the annunciation: 'the Son of the Most High' (Luke 1:32).
