'With us — God' — Isaiah's sign-name, fulfilled at Bethlehem.
Jewish reading anchors the sign in Ahaz's crisis — a child marking God's deliverance timeline; Christian reading hears Matthew's fulfillment: presence itself born. Matthew brackets his whole Gospel with it — Immanuel at the birth, 'I am with you always' at the end.
