Lamb of God

שֵׂה הָאֱלֹהִים

Seh HaElohim · Amnos tou Theou — pronounced SEH ha-el-oh-HEEM · appears 2 (John) + ~28 Lamb in Revelation times · Strong's G286, G721

'Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world' — Passover, the Akedah, and Isaiah 53 gathered into one title.

Revelation's throne room sings to the Lamb nearly thirty times — the NT's most sustained worship title. Behind it stand Abraham's answer on Moriah, Egypt's doorposts, and Isaiah's silent sufferer. The Lamb standing 'as though slain' is Christianity's central paradox: the wound become the glory.

First occurrence

John 1:29 — John the Baptist at the Jordan

Gen 22:8 — 'God will provide Himself the lamb'

Exod 12:3 — The Passover lamb
