The Fear/Dread of Isaac — one of the oldest and strangest divine titles: the God Isaac trembled before, sworn by at Mizpah.
Why is Isaac's name for God 'Dread'? Tradition wonders: the man once bound on an altar knew a trembling his father and son did not. The title preserves, in two words, a survivor's awe — and permission for reverent fear inside faith.
