Ruach HaKodesh — The Holy Spirit
רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ
The Spirit of Holiness — breath, wind, and Spirit in one Hebrew word, hovering since the second verse of the Bible.
Ruach means breath and wind before it means Spirit — the invisible force you know only by what it moves. Judaism speaks of the Ruach HaKodesh as the spirit of prophecy; the NT dates its outpouring to a Shavuot morning in Jerusalem, fulfilling Joel. Both traditions agree: where this wind blows, dead things live.
