Savior — Moshia / Soter

מוֹשִׁיעַ

Moshia · Soter — pronounced mo-SHEE-ah; so-TARE · appears ~24 (Soter, NT) times · Strong's G4990, H3467

Savior, Deliverer — the Tanakh's title for YHVH ('besides Me there is no moshia'), announced over a manger.

Isaiah stakes the title exclusively to YHVH; Luke's angels announce it over Bethlehem. The NT applies Soter to Father and Son with equal ease — for Messianic readers, Isaiah 43:11 is the hinge on which the whole claim turns.
