Son of God
בֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִים
The Son of God — sonship as shared nature, mission, and love.
Israel is called God's son (Exod 4:22), the Davidic king is called God's son (Ps 2) — and the NT claims the title's fullest depth for Yeshua. Proverbs 30:4's ancient riddle — 'what is His Son's name?' — hangs over the whole discussion in both traditions.
First occurrence
Ps 2:7 — 'You are My Son; today I have begotten You'
Key passages
Matt 3:17 — The voice at the Jordan: 'This is My beloved Son'
Matt 16:16 — Peter's confession
John 20:31 — 'That you may believe that Yeshua is the Messiah, the Son of God'
Prov 30:4 — 'What is His name, and what is His Son's name, if you know?'
In the Greek Scriptures
