YHVH Shalom — The LORD Is Peace
יְהוָה שָׁלוֹם
'YHVH is peace' — Gideon's altar, built by a frightened man who had just seen the Angel of YHVH face to face.
Named by the least of the least clan, hiding in a winepress — peace given precisely to the fearful. Shalom means wholeness, not mere quiet; both traditions bless with it because this name says God Himself is the wholeness.
First occurrence
Judg 6:24 — 'Peace to you; do not fear; you shall not die'
Key passages
Num 6:26 — The priestly blessing ends in shalom
