The number 14 in the Bible — David · Deliverance
אַרְבַּע עֶשְׂרֵה
Fourteen is twice seven, and Matthew builds his genealogy on it: fourteen generations, three times over. The gematria of David (דוד) is 14 — the name of the promised Son of David spelled into the list's very structure. Passover falls on the fourteenth of the first month; Purim's deliverance on the fourteenth of Adar.
