This is the most important skill on the site. Every Strong's number in the King James + Strong's opens the word behind the English. Every word in the Hebrew and Greek texts does the same. The lexicon brings together what used to take a shelf of reference books.

Step 1: Tap a Strong's number

In Genesis 1:1, tap the small gold H7225 after In the beginning. The lexicon opens on reshit, “beginning”. In the Hebrew or Greek texts, tap the word itself.

Step 2: Read the top of the entry

You see the Strong's number and part of speech, the word in large pointed Hebrew, its transliteration and pronunciation, and the Listen button to hear it spoken. The Gematria value is shown, with the other counting methods (Ordinal, Reduced, Large, AtBash) beneath it.

Step 3: Follow the three study buttons

Study the letters → opens the word in the Pictograph study. Family tree → shows the root and every word grown from it. Words that pair → shows the words it most often keeps company with. Each is a tutorial of its own.

Step 4: See every place it appears

The occurrence box says how many times the word is used and in how many verses. Tap View all › to list them all.

Step 5: Read the lexicons

Scroll down for the definitions: Strong's, Brown–Driver–Briggs (the standard scholarly Hebrew lexicon), the TWOT number, and the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon, which shows the word's root family. A second tab, Kabbalistic Thought, gathers what the Jewish mystical tradition teaches about the word, where there is any.
